Our little Ruby has got scarlet fever!

We should have been spending today with our daughter and family but we had a phone call to say Ruby(6) has got scarlet fever. She has to be in quarantine for 24 hours and on antibiotics for ten days.We hope Emily doesn't get it but also Sarah our daughter who is Type 1 diabetic doesn't get it.My OH has no spleen so he has to keep away too.
We survived our busy week but I was very tired!I did manage to take some photos of some of the azaleas and rhodedendrons in our front garden. The photos don't really do them justice. They are gorgeous this year.

  1. Oh my goodness! Hope everyone is okay.

  2. Hope eveyone is on the mend again soon

  3. The flowers are beautiful. Sorry to hear about the little ones illness. Hope she is better soon.

  4. Oh jeepers, I do hope that Ruby will be in full recovery very, very soon, and that no one else is touched by that fever.

Is it not a very odd coincidence for this fever to arrive in Ruby's system?

    Best wishes.

  5. I do hope no-one else catches it from her - poor little girl. Love the flowers.

  6. Oh, poor Ruby I hope she recovers soon and that no one else is affected by it. I remember well having scarlet fever when I was about 5 years old - I remember my grandma nursing me in her bedroom as my mother was ill too. Take care:)

  7. Poor thing!

I remember when I was at primary school in the 60s there was an epidemic of scarlet fever. I missed out on it as I was home due to a bout of pneumonia!!
